Note the Lake District Climbing Challenge 2003 - this will take place at three Mountain Rescue Venues (19th, 20th, 21st) and involve the TV famous rotating, tilting climbing wall.  If you think you can 'hang on' you will be well on the way to winning a much prized medal.  See www.climbtherock.com for pictures of this unique wall and click here to see what you can win.  If Tony Cunningham MP can do it, so can you (he will be at the Keswick MRT event at 12.00 pm on the Easter Saturday (20th April)

  • Official Launch of the new team - the amalgamation of the old Millom FSRT and old Furness MRT - press day

 

  • Illustrated Talk 'Islands in the Stream' by Mick Tighe at the Coronation Hall, Ulverston, 7.00 pm.  Booking Office 01229 587140 - (activity complete and was a great success with 90 attending the lecture)

 

  • Base Open Day for the general Public - Foxfield Business Park, Broughton-in-Furness, 10 am to 4 pm - Mountain Rescue Displays, RAF Search and Rescue Helicopter Displays and Countywide Climbing Competition on ‘The Rock’ computerised climbing wall as seen on Blue Peter and Tomorrow’s World – Free entry, no experience required. Medals to be won.  Plus other children’s competitions

·        Base opening at Keswick Lakeside car park.  Rolling, tilting climbing wall challenge ( Medals to be won). RAF Sea King Helicopter appearance and possible winching of Search Dog and Handler demonstration (weather permitting)

·        Local MP Tony Cunningham, a keen supporter of Mountain Rescue will be there from midday on the Sunday 20th to participate on the wall
