The Year will end on a high note at the world’s largest Mountain Festival held in November in Kendal and at Rheged.   This will provide an opportunity to put on dedicated Cumbrian based programmes and also to draw out specific links with both Switzerland and IYM.  Among the Swiss celebrities targeted in Dominic Perret for a special Ski Festival day.  The programme will hopefully end  with a lecture by Reinhiolt Messner on the future of sustainable tourism in mountain communities which will be braodcast on wide band.

The tour will also provide opportunities to pre-market the Cumbrian Mountain Festivals and also to promote Cumbria oversees.

The Mountain Rescue teams are keen to join the project and intend to launch various events under our banner, “Dialogue Across Mountains”.
